Google Friend Connect Stranglehold Off To A Precarious Start
In 1975 Ted Nugent belted out the lyrics to Stranglehold:
HERE I COME AGAIN NOW BABY
LIKE A DOG IN HEAT
TELL IT’S ME BY THE WAY NOW BABY
I LIKE TO TAP THE STREETS
Google’s Friend Connect could hardly be accused, at this point. Where Sweaty Teddy came on like wildfire and right out of the gate showed he was a force to contend with in the Rock World, Google came on like wildfire and right out of the gate showed they sort of fizzled. That’s my read on Google’s Friend Connect, so far. With all the hype, Google seemed to delay crunch time as long as possible and then end up offering empty promises. The worst part is that after 12 hours from the time I first saw Friend Connect appear online, Google is giving us nothing in the way of information to let us know what is going on.
Later in the Day Google may start granting access to their service, which past conjectures included the thought that Google’s Friend Connect would revolutionize Social Networking and Social Media Marketing (aka “The Social”), however it seems as if everyone is sitting around waiting with baited breath for Google’s next move.
This doesn’t exactly bode well for Google, but they can still end up a success in the end.
There are sample sites you can go check out, but sample sites shows me nothing except what someone has done with Google. It doesn’t tell me whether this is all I can do or not, and it definitely doesn’t fully answer what the program is capable of doing. Then again maybe I am too picky about wanting to see for myself what they offer instead of being lead around being shown what the infamous “They” want to show me. Maybe I should get rid of that Mindset of not wishing to blindly follow others and believe what they say with-out question. Then again, maybe some filthy rich beauty should come knock on my door and tell me that they can’t live with-out me and will abide by my every whim too…. but I won’t hold my breath for either thing to happen.
Needless to say I am not impressed with Google’s new brainchild so far. The whole thing is shaping up to be very anti-climatic.
